Therapeutic
Activities
The
home policy on "Therapeutic Activities" takes into account
the Service User's interests, skills, experiences, personalities
and medical condition. The home offers a wide range of activities
designed to encourage the client to keep mobile, and most importantly
take an interest in life. There is a qualified activities co-ordinator
employed by the home.
Staff
encourage and in certain instances help Service User's to pursue
their hobbies and interests:
Service
User's can play the following games using the equipment that is
designed for fading sight:
- Cards
- Scrabble
- Bingo
- Draughts
- Ball Games - feet or hand.
Activities with the staff (On
a Daily Basis)
- Chatting to Individual Service
Users
- Going for Walks
- Manicures
- Playing Games
- Armchair exercises
- Reading letters/magazines/newspapers
- Helping to choose Library
books
- Music ad singalongs
- Maintain life long hobbies,
crossword puzzles etc...
Outings
All outings are geared
to Service User's needs and capabilties and due to this a limited
number of Service User's can go on any one outing.
Examples of outings
are listed below:
- A drive around
the countryside and the coast
- Visit to a
garden centre and local farm
- Visit to a
pantomime or play
- Trips to the
Museum
- Outing to local
public houses for meals
- Trips to town
for coffee, tea and cakes
- Outing to the
local sports and social club for entertainment and drinks
- Visit to Chester
Zoo
- Trip on a barge
on the local canal
Visitors coming from outside
to either entertain or provide a service
- Local Clergy
- Sunshine Singers
- Zoo Lab
- Bell Ringers
- Musicians
- Chester Brass Band
- Children's Dance Group
